Hi, welcome to my website. I’m Pamela Mackay, a Scottish artist and illustrator inspired by the landscapes, folklore, wildlife and ever-changing atmosphere of Scotland. My work explores a blend of traditional and contemporary approaches, moving between printmaking, painting, mixed-media drawing and digital illustration. I love creating artwork that captures a sense of place, story and character.
Many of my ideas come from time spent outdoors, exploring Scotland’s coastlines, forests, hills and cities. I’m particularly drawn to the changing light, shifting weather and the mixture of history, myth and everyday life that make Scotland so distinctive. Through my work I aim to create pieces that feel atmospheric, personal and connected to the places that inspire them.
I graduated from Gray's School of Art with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art Printmaking in 2009, before later completing an MA in Illustration with Distinction at Falmouth University in 2023. My practice continues to evolve as I experiment with new processes and ways of combining craft, texture and storytelling.
Alongside creating original artwork and prints, I also take on commissions including pet portraits, landscapes and personalised pieces. If you’re interested in working with me, please feel free to get in touch.
